HENRIK & LOUISE: Två
Två will become a children’s performance made and played by the acrobatic duo Henrik & Louise. Inspired by the artist Lars Agger´s paintings of childhood memories the duo wants to cross the line between fine art and circus performance. By using circus skills and Lars´ suggestive images they wish to create a minimalistic but poetic performance for children.
Henrik Agger and Louise Bjurholm Euler have worked as a duo since 2001. They were educated four years at Moscow State School of Circus by the legendary coach Boris Nikiforovitch Belochvostov, and later on at the Masters Program New Performative Practices at DOCH in Stockholm. They toured internationally with companies such as Cirkus Cirkör and the Russian State Circus, and lately with their own production Extreme Symbiosis.
We want to announce that we are in the process of making a new performance and hope to create an interest for the company and the the up-coming project. We are looking for potential co-producers, residencies and future stages/festivals/venues.
CIRCUS I LOVE YOU: Circus I Love You
The creation Circus I Love You will tour with its own circus tent throughout Europe from summer 2018 onwards. The performance will take the form of progressive circus (as in progressive rock music) flowing from the start to the end as a unified, diverse cross composition of circus and live music. The 8 performers from Finland, France, Denmark, Norway and Sweden are pluridisciplinary musician/acrobats, the Swiss army knives of their trade.
The project is initiated and carried out by young, established professionals from the European circus field; Sade Kamppila, Jouni Ruuth and Oskar Rask from Finland, Julien Auger and Benoit Fauchier from France, Karoline Aamås from Norway, Mikkel Hobitz Filtenborg from Denmark and Andil Dahl from Sweden. The companies providing the platform for the creation are Möjlighetsministeriet (SE), Sirkus Aikamoinen (FI) and SmartFr (FR).
To reach the Nordic networks and programmers for planning our tour through Scandinavia from year 2018.
RECOVER LABORATORY: Recover Laboratory
Recover Laboratory is a cross-artistic platform for immersive labyrinths, installations, circus performances and fleeting moments. They can be anything and everything possible, with the visitor being the last piece of the work. Invasively personal experiences, concerts of senses, rituals and personal journeys, composing of performers, sounds, artworks and other stimuli designed to draw the experiencer’s thoughts into the unknown. An absurd surrealism hangs over the productions.
Director/circus artist Miradonna Sirkka created Recover Laboratory in 2014. Later artistic director/contemporary artist Sofi Häkkinen and experience manager Inna Huttunen joined the team. This trio with a unique set of skills envisions and produces the artworks. The crew is always extended according to the space and each experience is created with a number of pros from different art fields. With our extended team there is very little we cannot do.
We are searching for opportunities to develop our work out on international level: residencies, production help and festivals and events to collaborate with. We search for bookings in 2018-2020. Talking to and mingling with creative, interesting and experienced colleagues from other countries is a great way to develop great performances to even better ones.
GÄVLE SCEN & NYCIRKUS
One of the greatest mysteries of man is time and the decades of progress and failure. In Time shows several segments in which a man could decipher or find himself not to let time destroy the day-to-day. A combination of hip-hop, acrobatics and aerobatics, on the theme of how to find your own way. A project created from the point of view of the street.
We are an artistic group created 3 years ago, formed by specialized professionals in different area like dance, performing arts, gymnastics and new circus performances.
To reach out to circus in Scandinavia and have the possibility to connect with other companies, and to expand our network.
TAIGI CIRKAS: Try Again
Try Again is a contemporary circus work about overcoming obstacles that we find in our environment, our body and our mind, about the cyclicity of life and keeping a positive mindset. Disciplines: aerial rope, acrobatic dance, physical theater.
Taigi CirKas is a young contemporary circus company from Vilnius, Lithuania, formed in 2016. Our main focus is telling honest, relatable and almost personal stories using aerial acrobatics, acrodance and other circus disciplines as a metaphor, creating minimalistic and laconic work. At the moment there are three members in our company: circus artists/co-creators Konstantin Kosovec and Elena Nechiporenko and our manager Aušrinė Balkaitytė.
We want to present Lithuanian contemporary circus to the Nordic region as it is newly developed art form in our country. We are currently working on this project with support of the Lithuanian Culture Fond. Our goal is to create a contemporary circus work that could tour in the Baltic-Nordic region. At Subcase we want to gather contacts and feedback.
SOON COMPANY: Gregarious
Gregarious is not epic, is not heroic. Gregarious is an honest, sweaty and playful show about the human side of sports. Through acrobatics and comedy the two artists put focus on their relation and on the way they constantly switch from collaboration to conflict. They mix a subtle and tender way of playing with a high technical level in teeterboard, Chinese pole and partner acrobatics in a show that can be performed indoor and outdoor.
Soon Company is a new circus company created in 2015 by two acrobats and friends, Nilas Kronlid and Manel Rosés. They met in DOCH in Stockholm where their passion for acrobatics and movement created a strong connection between them. After working together for 5 years in various projects they decided it was time to create something of their own.
We want to widen our networks and meet programers from all over the world. We wish to find preebooking of the show as well as a venue to have our premiere and a few weeks of residencies.
JESSICA ANDRADE: The Brownie Club
The Brownie Club is an autobiographical aerial theatre show about race, identity and fitting in. Jessica, a British Indian girl growing up in Essex, starts her own Brownie Club with two friends. In a treehouse they share gossip and tales from school. Their strong bond is borne out of a shared sense of difference; the stereotypes thrown at them are because of their colour. Through speech, song, dance and aerial work, they reveal their collective resilience.
Jessica Andrade is a British Asian actress, specialising in physical theatre and circus
skills. She graduated from East 15 Acting school in Theatre Arts in 2007 and in Physical
Theatre in 2010. She works regularly with Tangled Feet and is an Associate Artist at Upwing as well as teaching silks, hoop and conditioning classes.
